While the work of Stehr and von Storch in the first half of their cooperation was mainly analytical, focusing on the competition between socially and scientifically constructed knowledge, on the different qualities of social and natural sciences in informing public opinion and advising policy discussions, the history of reflections about the relationship between societies and climate, the focus of the two authors subsequently expanded to include the political consequences of this knowledge about climate. This effort culminated in the “Zeppelin Manifesto”
